It’s a brand of hot tub sanitizing systems that feature FROG Minerals and FROG’s breakthrough innovation — SmartChlor Technology. The result is Fresh Mineral Water® that’s Cleaner, Clearer, Softer and Easier® than traditional hot tub treatments with up to 75% less chlorine* and far less work by shocking only once a month.

FROG @ease combines FROG Minerals with SmartChlor Technology to kill bacteria 2 ways and maintain a consistently low chlorine level for weeks at a time.
Two Cartridges make up the FROG @ease System. One Cartridge contains FROG Minerals. The other contains SmartChlor, a unique, patented type of that’s self-regulating. It automatically delivers chlorine, but only when needed.
Traditional chlorine is used up immediately when people use the hot tub. Your customer have to add more chlorine every time they use the hot tub – chlorine levels spike and dip constantly.
SmartChlor maintains the same consistent low level of chlorine at all times. It’s smart, it adds more chlorine when needed to keep the water clean and clear. It uses up to 75% less chlorine*, because FROG Minerals help kill bacteria; water feels softer, swimsuits don’t fade, surfaces are protected.
When the SmartChlor Cartridge needs to be replaced, the System flips upside down. Replacing the Cartridge is a snap! Snap the old Cartridge off and snap the new Cartridge on.

It takes 2 seconds to know precisely whether the Total Alkalinity, pH and Total Hardness are balanced, plus whether or not SmartChlor® needs to be replaced.
Dip the FROG @ease Test Strip into the water, remove with the pads facing up and shake once to remove the water on the FROG Test Strips. Then hold it up next to the color chart on the back of the bottle to compare colors.
If the SmartChlor color on the strip is darker than the bottle label, the water is fine. If it is lighter it’s time to replace the SmartChlor Cartridge.
That’s all your customers need in between service visits – a few FROG @ease Test Strips and they can easily tell when it’s time to replace the SmartChlor Cartridge, or adjust Total Alkalinity, pH and Total Hardness as needed.
And it’s easy for you to test when you make a service call.

Other test strips will show Total Chlorine and Free Chlorine ranges that are different than the way FROG @ease works, which causes confusion.
Total Chlorine will always be higher than Free Chlorine until the SmartChlor Cartridge is empty, due to the SmartChlor that creates a Chlorine Reserve in the water. The Chlorine Reserve reads as Total Chlorine; it starts out at higher than normal hot tub chlorine level and slowly depletes over the 3–4 week life of the Cartridge. The Free Chlorine reading maintains an equilibrium state of 0.5 – 1.0 ppm.
Using other test strips, it’s possible to get both a Total Chlorine and a Free Chlorine reading, which could be confusing for your customers. That’s why we recommend using FROG @ease Test Strips with a simple one color test for chlorine.
With just a little bit of education, people can manage water care between service visits.

It’s an innovative, scientific solution to keep hot tub water crystal clear and customers happy  – continuously.
SmartChlor is a unique, patented type of chlorine that’s time-released, so it knows when there’s a demand on the hot tub and automatically delivers the sanitizing power to meet that demand. That’s why it’s Smart. It also maintains a consistent Free Chlorine level of only 0.5 – 1.0 ppm for softer water, less odors and no bleaching suits or surfaces. It works only with FROG Minerals, together, they create Fresh Mineral Water in hot tubs.

SmartChlor creates a Chlorine Reserve in the water when the Cartridge is first used. When people get into the hot tub, SmartChlor goes to work converting the Chlorine Reserve to Free Chlorine, which takes care of the demand. That’s why it’s self-regulating. SmartChlor naturally maintains a low Free Chlorine level of 0.5 – 1.0 ppm as long as FROG Minerals are used, the SmartChlor Cartridge isn’t empty, and the water is balanced.
Dichlor’s Free Chlorine level drops significantly under demand, requiring the user to shock. SmartChlor reduces shocking to only once a month.
You can easily explain to your customers that FROG @ease:

FROG @ease maintains a lower Free Chlorine residual of 0.5 – 1.0 ppm – much lower than the 2.0 – 4.0 ppm of Free Chlorine that dichlor hot tubs require. SmartChlor’s unique properties combined with FROG Minerals reduce the formation of chloramines, which are the odor causing agents that require shocking to remove.

SmartChlor creates a Chlorine Reserve in the water and automatically converts the Chlorine Reserve, which we’ll consider “Total Chlorine,” into Free Chlorine, the formation of chloramines is drastically reduced, so there’s no need to shock when the Total Chlorine and Free Chlorine readings are different. It’s almost like it’s self-shocking during this conversion process. Therefore, we recommend shocking with a non-chlorine shock, like FROG Maintain®, only when replacing a SmartChlor Cartridge — about every 3 – 4 weeks, depending upon use.

They include silver, a proven bacteria killer, and calcium carbonate, which adds softness, absorbs acids and helps keep pH balanced.

SmartChlor has a unique effect on the silver, which increases its solubility in the water, ultimately making it more effective at killing bacteria. EPA accepted SmartChlor as a recreational water sanitizer at a Free Chlorine level of 0.5 ppm, only when used in conjunction with FROG Minerals.

Ideally, hot tubs 150 to 600 are perfect for FROG @ease.

With the typical chemicals used in hot tub water, people experience peaks and valleys in their sanitizing routine.  When they add a chemical, the level spikes. Then, when they use the hot tub, the level drops. This yo-yo experience goes away with FROG @ease because it maintains the same level of sanitizing from first day it’s used until the day the System flips over and it’s time to replace the SmartChlor Cartridge.

Yes, they are compatible if desired. However, FROG @ease is considered a complete sanitizing system for hot tubs that needs only an occasional shock treatment.

Yes, if dichlor was used previously in the hot tub. If the hot tub used bromine, biguanides or the CYA level is 80 ppm or more, the hot tub needs to be drained. Refill the hot tub before using FROG @ease.

SmartChlor isn’t a typical chlorine; it’s a patented form of chlorine that consistently maintains a 0.5 to 1.0 ppm Free Chlorine level.
